I managed to install the firmware. Yes I had the correct firmware, but i needed to set the motherboard type in configuration.h to the sanguino. There is a problem, however, with the extruder on mine and it needs replacing. I only found this out after installing the firmware. The hot end is reporting ...

This is where it is ambiguous. There are a lot of files and folders in the Marlin-marlin_v1 folder (the one that is linked for the firmware). I see only 1 folder called Sanguino (in the path Marlin-Marlin_v1\ArduinoAddons\Arduino_1.x.x\hardware\Sanguino). Inside this folder is bootloaders, cores ...

Perhaps I am doing something wrong. I use the Arduino program to open up the marlin.pde file then try the compile. If this is incorrect, please tell me exactly what I am supposed to do.

I am having a similar problem trying to upload the firmware. I have the Arduino software version installed that W/ATmega1284p selected, the compile fails saying I need to use the Arduino Mega instead.
