192.168.240.1 <-- this connection is not working (Iduino)

Hello I'm trying to setup my Iduino shield for the first time and when I enter the 192.168.240.1. it doesnt pop up at all.
I have the iduino hooked up with an arduino uno and I also have an arduino Ethernet shield but I can't get anything to happen.
not even putty can find this thing.
