Re: X Axis no torque in one direction
Yeah, the a4988. The First replacement was faulty, but the second one had it working well.

Re: Scrambled LCD / Skipping Extruder
And now, it seems to be working, randomly. However, it pulses at the beginning of the print, and rocks back and forward before starting to extrude normally.

Re: Scrambled LCD / Skipping Extruder
I also have/had the same problem. Finally got it working well after months of drama, then the display glitches and the extruder stops extruding.

Re: X Axis no torque in one direction
I got a new board, and it works! I was just unlucky enough that the replacement board was also faulty. Thanks for your help.

Re: X Axis no torque in one direction
Ok, I've actually measured the voltage on the cable, swapped boards, swapped cables, and the new board isn't supplying voltage to the motor.
Sounds like the replacement board is dead, too. Or am I missing something?

Re: X Axis no torque in one direction
I got a new A4988 board and inserted it. I'm now receiving correct voltage across the potentiometer. Yay!
However, now the x axis doesn't move at all.
I've reuploaded the firmware, but still nothing.
Do I need to do anything else?

Re: X Axis no torque in one direction
I did. Any other driver board in the x axis socket works fine. The x axis board in any other socket, does not.

Re: X Axis no torque in one direction
Great suggestion. I swapped the x and y driver board around. The y axis board in the x axis position shows 0.82v on the potentiometer.
The x axis board in the y axis position shows 0v on the potentiometer.
Definately looks like a dead driver board.
I've just ordered a new one. Thanks very much for ...

Re: X Axis no torque in one direction
Ok, I tested all, just in case. Z and y axis read just over 0.8v, and 5 volt on the driver directly.
X axis reads 5v on the board, but 0 on the potentiometer. Turn the potentiometer clockwise. Still zero.
Dead driver?
