Before I put my current TMC in UART mode for better control of the steppers, I'd like to know if the firmware actually support the UART mode and if it will do anything with it.

So, does the firmware support UART for TMC2208 ?

Thanks but it doesn't.

I finally found the solution, for those who will face the same:

Start Smartto Motor, unplug the USB cable, plug it and click connect AS SOON as you see the COM port displayed in the list.
Try it until it connects, it will says success at some point.

How to change the motor directions on the firmware 1.38.59 for the A30 ?
Smartto motor 1.2 doesn’t connect, saying there is no serial port.
