Re: Geeetech A10 Extruder Motor skipping, how to adjust current?

Hi there again!

I received my all aluminium extruder assembly today, WOW! -I must say, this small upgrade is making my printer run much smoother and feels tight while printing.
Not once have I heard it skip a beat with the incl. 40 tooth gear yet, tho I had a small issue of my Teflon tube popping ...

Re: Geeetech A10 Extruder Motor skipping, how to adjust current?

I think I have it figured out, I had to take the whole hotend assembly apart and the plug going into the heated element was lose, therefore squeezing filament all over. Is there a way to keep it tight? I think it must have loosened when I changed nozzles...

Re: Geeetech A10 Extruder Motor skipping, how to adjust current?

Good day,

Another little issue I found is that my nozzle was getting fairly blobbed with filament. Upon closer inspection I found it is pushing it out sideways before it gets to the hot end nozzle.

How do I fix this now? :S

Re: Geeetech A10 Extruder Motor skipping, how to adjust current?

Hey Vert.

Speaking of mods, do you know if there is any quieter fans available for the Geeetech A10, or any suggestions? This thing is pretty loud from the factory.

Btw. bumping the voltage up to 1.41 seemed to have fixed the problem so far. Haven't heard it skip a beat yet! The aluminium extruder ...

Re: Geeetech A10 Extruder Motor skipping, how to adjust current?

You're the man!
Hopefully this will solve all the little issues it's been giving me. So far it has been a good printer, I pushed out a couple 20 hour prints already with fairly good results printing PETG.

On one of them I started adjusting the tension screw for the extruder about half way through ...

Re: Geeetech A10 Extruder Motor skipping, how to adjust current?

I been test printing some smaller pieces that take roughly 30 minutes, extruder motor seems warm but not hot at 1.41V have not heard it skip a beat yet but we will see once I print a large object that takes 20 hours+.

Also I will replace the factory extruder assembly to an aluminium one, as someone ...

Re: Geeetech A10 Extruder Motor skipping, how to adjust current?

Okay it has not done that yet, nor does the motor even get hot enough to the touch, it just skips, so what would you suggest, bump it down to 1.2 or increase it even more? I just don't want this motor to skip while printing anymore.

So I checked them and the 3 drivers on the left are at 1.03V and the E motor is already at 1.30V!

Re: Geeetech A10 Extruder Motor skipping, how to adjust current?

You're the best, so I'll up the current on the single standing driver to 1.08V. I will keep in touch how that goes.
