Firmware Upgrade Failure - Timeout delay

When I first powered up my printer (I3 Pro B with GT2560 Rev A board), I was getting sensible text on the LCD screen.

I then tried updating the firmware and I got some error messages. Now there is garbage on the LCD screen.

Every time I try to update the firmware again, I get the attached error ...
