I am also having the same issue with the firmware provided. There should be a file with the extension "INO" or "PDE" for the Arduino IDE to be able to open it.
I was sent the firmware, but there is no arduino master file. I really would like to tune it up, but with out the master file, it would be very difficult.

Please select all firmware files and drag them into the arduino IDE window.

Thanks. I verified it and saved it and it created the ino file. I would have never thought to do that. So, If I upload this to my mega2560, I should see no differences?

One thing I did not expect was that I had to re-calibrate by extruder... Other than that, it worked like a champ!

Generally, every type of mainboard has a corresponding firmware. So if you burn Sangunololu firmware into mega2560, there must be difference.

I burned the mega2560 software... they provided the files, all but the .ino or .pde. But it did work.

When the configuration of 2 boards is same, if you select the correct board type when using Arduino IDE and compiling, it will work.
