Thermocoupler on GT2560

Post by protorix »

Hi there,

I´ve a GT2560 board, together with an UM clone extruder head and, more or less accidentaly PT100 thermocouplers. (Because the hole is just 3mm...)
After some studying on a normal RAMPS 1.4 board, the volks that use thermocouplers + sensor board, have 3 cables to the board and 2 to the sensor.
So - Is it possible to use that termocouplers on GT2560, as there are only 2 pins on the termistor connection.

Thanks!

I think the selected thermocouple depends on what firmware you are gonna use?

mhhh not really I think.
I can choose in the termistor setting which termistor I have.
I also can choose thermocouple PT 100, with which I would need a amplification board. But from the amp board to the mainboard there are 3 cables, but GT2560 only has a 2-pin connection.

But... I think I read somewhere else, that´s just not possible to use the gt2560 board, together with termocouple.

After all, I´m not sure if thermocouple gives any advantage, perhaps with special filament...

Okay,maybe you're right...
And as far as i know, the thermistor(for heat bed and extruder) which is used on GT2560 board is the following one:
