GT2560, extuder stepper no worky

Hello everyone. spent the last two days building my Geeetech, it was quite the experience. I am horrified by how bad the instructions are.

now, I'm feeling a little more noodish than usual here, though with a search I was able to do a firmware update reading that could solve my problem.
But, it did not. I'm not really a software guy. The extuder stepper will not move in the 'Move Axes' menu, but I did plug it into another axes and the stepper does work on a different output. The bed and nozzle heat up ok, all the axes work ok. I have the voltage set at 0.95 ish.

any input would be great.

Phillip

In the 'Move Axes' menu, did you choose the 0.1mm one? Actually the extruder will not turn in this option, you should choose move 1mm or 10mm.
In addition, the extruder motor will not turn until the temperature reahces above 170 degrees.
And you can swap the motor driver with the X axis one, see if the driver is dead or not.
Also, what's your printer type? where did you get the firmware? you can come here to download it:http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 10&t=17046

I got it working after a lot more searching, and it was just that I did not know the extuder needed to be at 170. I did get the firmware through this site,
I did not realize this endeavor was going to be such a manual setup. But I have got it to print even though it won't stick to the bed, but thats just me learning this thing.

The printer is the Geeetech Prusa I3 X. I hear a lot of good and bad about this thing, but so far no major problems.
