hotend stays cold. Geeetech Prusa I3 M201

Post by BarryT »

Hi Every one,

I just finished the assembly of my Geeetech Prusa I3 M201. And i'm ran into a problem. The hotend won't heatup. On the display it stays 0 (zero degrees). I have checked the connections more than ten times. (see photo)

And of course i striped the isolation of the wires where they go in to the connector.
If i touch the hotend it feels cold to. So i guess it is not the sensor. But then again the sensor say 0(zero) and not the room temperature. I don't know if that is a hint?

Any help/suggestions are very much appreciated.

Kind regards,m
Barry.

As I remembered you have wrongly connected the hotend, it should be connected to the outside connector, next to the 4pin main power connector.
And you might need to check out this link for the heating on the board GT2560, they are similiar:

Hi Mark thanks for your reply. I connected the hotend cables as the "Building Instructions" of Geeetech told me to. And that was in 'hotend 1'. Later on i saw that there was also a 'hotend 0' and a 'thermistor hotend 0'. Changed them to the 0 (zero) one. And it started working. :)

Kind regards,
Barry.
