Hotend clogging with ABS

Hi,
I have looked through the other topics and cannot see my exact problem.
My i3 Pro C has been successfully printing various objects with PLA. However; when I tried to use ABS, the nozzle is getting clogged and looking at the ABS as it comes through, I think it is a temperature problem. When the machine is switched on with no commands, both extruder temperatures show as 21 degrees C and the bed is showing 19 so the thermistors appear to be working.
I set the extruder to 250 degrees and the ABS still seemed to be coming through too hard because it is not melting enough to push through the nozzle.
Does anybody know what I can do to fix this please?
Thank you.

Hi,
It is still clogged after you cleared it ?
The tube and extruder is clear as I pushed a piece of jammed piece plastic through with a metal rod.
The nozzle is still clogged though and the ABS inside it does not seem to get high enough in temperature to clear it even though it is screwed on tight and the temperature on the display is 250 degrees.

Hi, the extruder is clear after I pushed a metal rod through the tube and a small piece of ABS came out. The nozzle is still clogged though as it does not seem to get hot enough even though the display says 250 degrees.

I did that and it cleared the extruder, thanks. I think the problem though is that the metal gear that pulls the plastic through is worn (I can see a grove in it where the plastic passes). Is there any way to stop this happening and where can I get replacement gear wheels from please?
