I am attempting my first print. In the initial preparation, the bed heated perfectly but the extruder is not heating at all. The program says the extruder is heating however the temperature reading does not increase and the extruder is not hot to touch. There is a red LED on the board where the wires for the bed connect that is lit while the bed is heating. Once the bed reaches the selected temperature a second LED lights up on the board where the wires for the extruder connect. Using a multimeter I checked the voltage at the extruder wires and got a reading of 12volts. I also checked continuity and found that there is a break in continuity for the extruder. I checked the continuity for the bed and it is continuous. This leads me to believe that there is a broken wire leading up to the extruder, within the extruder, or possibly that the extruder itself is bad. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I could narrow down my problem and correct this issue?
