I could not make my extruder work consistently.
OK I've spent 7 sleepless nights googling, pulling my printer apart and changing any possible parameter just to find out...
Plastic feeder is sh*t, it is just too flimsy for the job.
Hope these two pictures explain it all.
Extruder is hopeless and this is why
Re: Extruder is hopeless and this is why
Agreed, was thinking the same while looking at mine. From previous threads I thought it would be a philips screw to tighten/loosen the grip on the fillament, but seems like that is gone or on another version. Maybe we could create a new and better suited part?

Re: Extruder is hopeless and this is why
There are all-metal parts to replace all this that work very well.
Re: Extruder is hopeless and this is why
Having the same issue with the A10M
Extruders work fine when you turn the thumb wheel. They grip solid against the filament, making dents in it. When using the extruder motor from the menu to check the e steps, it seems to only extrude 77% of the filament you ask it to. Can't tell if it's slipping as the motor is so damn slow. Why these things aren't calibrated before shipping is beyond me. They risk getting bad reviews and not selling any more by skipping this all important quality control. People like us talk and we're not happy. I already sent one crap printer back this week. I want to like this one because Cura 3.5 seems to work on it (mostly) but it's giving me grief. Never had problems like this with my Anet A8.
PS: Where do you get metal parts for this extruder?

I bought one of these for $16. No more extruder issues since.

Re: Extruder is hopeless and this is why
I might have to look at this as I'm still having all kinds of inconsistent extrusion issues. One minute I'm over, then I'm under. Messing with the flow rate and e-steps just makes it worse. I'm thinking maybe it's just not gripping the filament properly. Seems to be worse at higher speeds or lower temps. Could be the hot end that's leaking... dunno, sick of chasing my tail and don't want to spend so much time and money upgrading every part of the printer until I have a complete new printer.
