Monoprice-Wanhao i3 V2 - Marlin Setting w GT2560

Post by DSRedford »

I am currently replacing a Melzi board in my MonoPrice V2 with a Geetech GT2560. I plan to use Marlin vs Repieter.
I have successfully loaded the firmware with settings based on a load for Wanhao.
I have LCD and control.
When I set to print, the nozzle moves around the perimeter loop of the print just fine but when it goes to the actual print the head moves about 1" and then pauses, starts again for 1" and pauses continuously.
Using higher capacity 855? drivers on GT2560.

I have tried multiple setting but cannot find the right tweak.
The printer works just fine on the Melzi board but has heated the connecting post - so I installed a separate MOSFET to the new GT2560 to assure it goes before the controller goes.

Frustrated is a mild term - any help?

I think you should check the endstop values of Marlin
You can compare them and then change it and test it again
-Keep your mind and try to test it. :)
-Everything will be fun!-Support all Getech printer.
-You can ask me the questions and I will kindly reply.

Found Problem - (For others)

The issue was over pushing the motors.
The board and driver chips were new and I had not adjusted the VRef voltage.
The motors would run till hot , pause cool and restart.
Adjusted the Vref as noted on YouTube and the problem went away.

Now for other issues... another post.

Thanks!
