I have always the problem.that the feeder starts to rattle and the feeder doesn't transport the filament.

I realized there is no possibility to adjust the pressure of the feeder wheel. But I've seen other feeders with such an adjustment screw.

Is it possible to modify the MK8 extruder with adjustable feeder pressure?

You can try putting a washer under the spring.
This increases the clamping force.


In this case it is also worth to check the temperature of the head (hot end) and the distance of the nozzle from the work table (heat bed).

These are the reasons why this phenomenon may occur.

I will test other filament feeder, which allow to adjust the pressure between the gear wheel and the role, where the filament is feeded by the stepper drive.

With this and a better feeding, I hope the problems will be solved. I will report here as soon as I have received the new parts.

I received the first (right hand) extruder with adjustable filament pressure. The extruder for left hand side has the wrong diameter for the nozzle, therefore I have to buy another extruder for the left hand side.

Not yet finally assembled, will be continued ...

Why have to buy another extruder?
The two nozzles can be defined separately, or you can just buy another MK8 nozzle in different diameter.

I just bought the parts which transport the filament. So, the stepper motor and the heat nozzle remain the same.
