Hi,

I own this printer now for one month. Time to sum up my experience I had so far. If I find a solution for an issue, I will upgrade this post.

Issues so far:
  • unable to print smooth vertical surfaces - maybe this is caused by the loose z-axis (see below)
  • unable to update firmware via EasyPrint - EasyPrint says "OK" but the firmware is not updated.
  • z-axis rods (on top) are loose - this causes vibrations which are very loud (clicking noise) and affect the print quality issue solved itself over time. z-axis rods got bent after some prints :D . Also printed two of those https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3111251 to avoid this issue in the future.
  • bad print quality when printing round objects or curves in general - maybe this is related to the firmware?
  • rubber belt for the x-axis snaps in and out of its "rail" when printing something higher than 15cm
  • motor for the y-axis is getting very hot - fix for this can be found at this forum, I just had no time to try it out
  • y-axis endstop is located at a wrong position- if you print at (0,0) the extruder has no printbed below. You can adjust this within the silcer software you use by setting an offset for this particular axis.
  • when printing my neighbour on the floor below he cant listen to radio - it gets distracted, you will hear a lot if noise.
  • Simplify3D is unable to print when via USB - it works but the printer pauses every couple of layers for some seconds. As a result, prints are not usable. I already opened a support ticket at Simplify3D, they blame the printer.looks like this issue https://github.com/Geeetech3D/Smartto-Eclipse/issues/26 might be related to this
  • Printer keeps restarting continously when connected to EasyPrint via USB - this happens since I upgraded EasyPrint
  • after upgrading firmware to 1.35.56 homing doesnt work anymore - the homing command does random things. if you try to home the x axis for example via LCD, the x-axis moves a bit away from the endstop. when you press that button again, another axis moves a little. solved this issue by unpluging the printer for some seconds
  • heatbed stops working midprintnew since 2018-12-04

I already own an Mecreator2 for over a year which I really love. Thus I know that it takes some time until you find the perfect print settings. But after one month of trial and error I have no idea how to improve anymore. When I use the same gcode file on my Mecreator2 and my A30, the Mecreator2 creates far better results. Especially surfaces are much smoother and corners are sharp while curves look really good. I hope this helps others and someone can address some issues I have. I really want to like this printer, but the quality of printed objects is currently below my expectations.

Best Regards,

Gamura
