Hi,

Every time I try to upgrade the A30 Firmware I get error. I can upgrade the mainboard with no errors. Then when I try to upgrade the LCD I get this error: " [Error] Upgrade Failed! Detail: Reach to max tried!" I'm trying to upgrade to A30_M_LCD_V1_37.bin. I can install V1.35.56 no problem. What am I doing wrong?

I've used smartto tool 1.1 & 1.2. Always an error on LCD upgrade.

Hello.
:mrgreen:

I don't know exactly what this error message means.
But in this case I would check if the file size and/or checksum is correct.

Thank you for your help. I was finally able to upgrade to 37.58. However now the SD card doesn't work. It says "SD Card Fail init"

The 3DTouch sensor does work. I tried doing a factory reset as well as reinstalling the firmware. Neither seems to work. If i revert to 35.56 the SD card works again.

Do you have a SD inserted, and with free space?

I mean the external SD, not the internal LCD SD.

Upgrader copies the fw .bin file to SD, and it will update lcd board on restart

Yes, I do have the SD card inserted. However, you just helped me figure out my issue. But I still don't know how to fix it.

When I try flashing A30_S_VD_V1_57.bin or A30_VD_S_V1_58.bin it breaks my SD Card slot. When I revert back to A30_APP_S_V1.35.56.bin the SD Card slot will start to work again.

Ok this is what I'm doing. Someone please point out what I'm doing wrong.

I'm using Smartto 1.2
The firmware file i'm using is: https://www.geeetech.com/firmware/A30%2037.58.zip ( I have checked the Checksum)
The A30 has 35.56 Installed.

My Procedure:
First I flash A30_M_LCD_V1_37.bin (Success)
Reboot - Blue LCD upgrade, Success
Then I flash A30_VD_S_V1_58.bin (Success)
Reboot
(If I try to flash S file then M file, M will file will fail with " [Error] Upgrade Failed! Detail: Reach to max tried!" )

Then I copy UI files to internal SD Card (The one on the LCD board)
system
A30.bin (Which was A30_M_LCD_V1_37.bin renamed to A30.bin)
config.txt

Code: Select all

boot:1;bin_name:A30.bin;
Everything works except I get SD card init fail and can not see anything on SD card.

I can then flash back to A30_APP_S_V1.35.56.bin & A30_APP_M_V1.35.56.bin, the SD Card will work again.

No need to update manually with A30.bin file, since you updated first of all.

Just update M file (M stands for Master, so LCD) 1.37
Then update S file (S stands for Slave, so Mainboard) 1.58

Factory reset and you´ll be at 1.37.58

I tried following your steps exactly. The firmware is updated to 1.37.58. However, the Sd card does not work. It says "SD Card init Failed" on the screen.

So I've wasted another 3 hours trying to upgrade the firmware on this printer. I just don't get it.

I'm using this firmware package and UI Files: https://www.geeetech.com/firmware/A30%2037.58.zip

======
I tried following the instructions here: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=60676
Flash M First (restart Printer)
Flash S Second (turn off printer)
Update UI Files on internal SD Card (restart printer)
Print shows no files on SD Card
I try factory reset. "SD card init failed"
=====

So then I tried the recommendation from this post: viewtopic.php?f=65&t=61780#p86802
He suggests Flash S then M
Flash S, Success
Flash M, "Upgrading failed! Detail: Reach to max tried!

It was the SD card!!! I ended up replacing both the internal LCD and the external SD card. After that I was finally able to upgrade the firmware!!!

As a bonus the new CLASS 10 card on the LCD board really sped up the display. All the menus load almost instantly!
