1.37.58 homing after level, z isn't raising.

When the printer returns to home it isn't raising on z a little first like it used to in older firmware versions. This has already caused me to scratch my bed badly. It also causes havoc if you abort a print with the nozzle close to the bed. It goes home with no Z lift first and you can't stop it.

Is there a newer firmware that will lift the nozzle before going home?

Actually it's worse than that. Level is not working. Every print I start the nozzle dives into the bed and scratches.

At least level was working perfectly on the old firmware (1.35.56), but the smartto motor control on the old firmware was behaving so badly I could not calibrate the extruder without reconnecting to the printer after every gcode command because it would stop responding to gcode after one command was sent. Also gcode feed command wasn't working properly so I couldn't set a slow enough feed to test extruder steps properly.

But now with the new firmware the leveling is completely unusable.

My hardware version is 2.1. I could sure use some advice on which firmware to use.

Look to the new software version. They wrote there that the have fixed the problem with the leveling of the z-axis. But the write in the readme.txt thar you have to install the new software with the bootloader Version 2 (and not 1.2). But this is not available.

I have the same problem and no idea what I can do.everybody in china is on holyday.
