Hi, thanks for the resposne. This item comes from Geeetech and the MCU is Sunplus SPCE61a. I thought it would be sufficient to interface to that MCU instead of adding an Arduino complexity. I don't think I will try the Arduino unit you suggested, it is too large. If you do have someone at Geeetech ...

Hi, is anyone using the SPCE61a based voice recognition module. I had it working fine but recently it will not change state from a rapid flashing led. I have tried every configuraiton of serial interface I can and it never responds.
