Re: under-exrusion

Do you print on computer? If so, maybe it's because of bad communication, you can try to print off-line by SD card.

Exactly!
I have followed your advice and printed several parts with SD card flawlessly. Now, I'm printing back on computer and the problem didn't reappear yet. But I monitor it ...

Re: under-exrusion

Thanks for the help.

So, I started to check that and I think that I've found that my problem is....

...overheating of the motor driver!

The original A4988 was dead after my first test prints, I replaced it by a DRV8825.
And I don't know why, after several flawless prints , It overheats.

I tune ...

Re: Prusa i3 acrylic extruder problem

Hi.

Good news.
I didn't way for a spare part, I've ordered DRV8825 instead of A4988.
It seem to be more resistant. :)
The only things to do is to keep only the 3rd jumper for 16microsteps and fine tuning the power (warning, potentiometer must be on the other side).
And TADAA! It works.

But there's ...

Re: Prusa i3 acrylic extruder problem

Did you stick the heat sink to A4988(Perhaps you call it pollolu) .?
Yes, I've sticked heat sink on all the A4988 (Yes, I called it pollolu, sorry :D )

Re: Prusa i3 acrylic extruder problem

Hello.
I have the same problem with my extruder.
It worked a little, just enough time to print a first calibration piece and when I tried to print a 20x20 mm solid cube It has stopped functioning after 2 mm in height.
the extruder motor vibrates...
If I push the filament (by hand), it goes easy ...

Re: I3 acrylic X and Z wrong way

The sockets are equipped with a "keyed system" (<-Google trad?), so I had to make a small adapateur but that's it, it works!

Thank you! Problem solved.

A problem once, now I'll find out why the extruder does not work manually. :)

I3 acrylic X and Z wrong way

Hi.

Just finished assembly of my acrylic prusa I3.

The Z axis is going the right way (down when pressing home)

But the Y axis and the Z axis are going in the opposite of the endstops.
I tried both repetier and the control panel.
What do I do?
inverts cables?

thanks for your reply
