I seem to also be having the same issue..
I have installed the driver released 10/10/2016
and I get this error from Arduino..
avrdude: stk500v2_ReceiveMessage(): timeout

Z Axis moves 1/4 of asked
GT2650/ I3 Pro B
When tell the z to move up or down 100mm I get a little less then 25mm.
I checked the voltage of the motor driver and is at 1 volt ...
M8 Rod as supplied, and the z steps/mm is 2650
Movement is smooth and does not seems to have an issue, also the coupling is not slipping ...
