I3 Pro B MK8 1.75 mm to 3 mm

Hello there, i'm thinking of buying a 3d printer I3 Pro B MK8
I would like to change filament 1.75 to 3mm, if I buy a assembled mk8 3mm extruder with a 0.4 nozzle and change it for the 1.75 extruder would this work
Do i need to change the firmware and also software settings..
