Re: Extruder fan noisy when it starts up...
Even if you change the fan it may not last, part of my regular maintenance is oiling the fan bearings with light oil, just peal back the little sticker that covers the bearing, a few drops of oils and its good for a month, then repeat, I never have any noisy fans now.

Firmware (again)
I had problems with the firmware that came with the board, motors running the wrong direction etc. Its all a bit of a blur but I got firmware from somewhere but I think it was an older issue, my machine is all working quite well with that, I was wondering if its worth updating to Marlin 1.1.8 are ...

I'm still trying to find the best settings, I've been working quite well for over week but still unsure of what quality I should be getting.
The main problem for me just now is knowing the best heat setting, when I print at about 200 I find the extrusion dosent quite bond making the model look like ...

Re: Mk8 extruder blocks
I see this is an old post, but the problem of clunking still exists. I used the clean out rod to align my extruder when I had the same problem, now it feed without clunking, so my problem was alignment, binding the filament.

Re: Pro W - Extruder slipping
I recently completed building my I3 pro b, I soon realised that the clunking I could hear was not wanted, after messing with the settings and getting little improvement I did some research on others having problems with the MK8 extruder. There is not a lot to go wrong with them but they do give ...
