Re: Honest opinion on GEEETECH A30
@ Vert and Yan_UK - I'm in the same boat. Is there any solution to fixing the A30 is it just a boat anchor? Can't get a "good" print out of it to save its life, and we've done several upgrades including new hot end, Swiss made all metal heat choke, new all metal extruder, Creality bracing bars, etc ...

Re: Stepper driver voltages
@BobaLives - the sad part about this, is that looks better than probably 95% of all the prints we've done with our A30 in the last two years, and that's even after spending on some serious upgrades. I think it's down to the firmware in this board is just not up to par. Every time I go to use it I ...

Re: A30 Dual Color upgrade
Since we've had nothing but problems with the A30 since I bought it a year ago, I've often considered throwing it out and starting over with a different printer. Occasionally we get a few good prints, and then boom - something like Z height issue problem occurs repeatedly, nozzle buries itself in ...

Re: Stop printing for a while
You can pause the print, but the machine will still be running. You could (in theory) pull the plug or turn the machine off at the power switch in the back, IF you are printing from the micro SD card and not a computer via USB, and it should restart printing from wherever it was when you turn it ...

Re: Z axis stop not working
I had this exact same problem, and it ruined my nozzle and some of the print bed right from the moment I turned it on. If I only knew it damaged the nozzle at the time, it would have saved me weeks of pulling my hair out.

Re: Very very loud PSU
Thanks for that advice! I searched for a Youtube on it and came up with Peter Homer's video on adjusting the hot stepper motor voltage. I'll tear into it a bit now and see if I can fix it.

Re: Very very loud PSU
Is the Y motor the one in the back? Mine is WAY hotter than the other motors. I wondered about that. Is it supposed to be like this? My fans are extremely loud when I first turn it on, (sound like they are failing even though they are brand new), but then quiet down some as they spin for several ...

Re: Horrible print-quality (waves in surface)
I have the same problem, but even worse looking! Have been fighting with this A30 since the beginning, major pain. I think in my case it's coming from the temperature of the hot end being all over the place during the print. Do a fairly lengthy print and watch the little touch screen on your A30 and ...
