I've re-leveled the bed and used Slic3r this time (same settings).

How to resolve the too-fat-issue? The extrusion width is set to auto, should I set it to a manual value?

soo.. after going through several iterations of 3D printers, I finally found a cheap one that prints with nice quality and has open source firmware: the A10.
