question on Extruder

Hi there,
I just completed building my Geeetech I3 pro B, was pretty interesting and not so complicated, but i have a question about the extruder.

When mounting the extruder is it mounted like the picture in the manuals that are sent in email with the motor on the left when looking at the front. And the other, how hard is it to get the filament into the extruder so it flows, it only goes in about an inch and stops, is there something i am missing.

Normally the motor should be on the right side of the extruder.

thanks for the answer, i looked and thought ok i asked a stupid newby question without thinking. Got it printing pretty good now.

One thing do u have have to set up where the centre of the hotbed is.
