Etruder positions itself about 8mm above the print bed

I am totally new to all this so any help would be great i have just finsihed building my I3 pro X printer it all seems to work but when i try to print a object the extruder sits about 8mm above the print bed i leveled the bed and set the Z stop just paper thick above the bed?
HELP i am sick of it already lol

Hi,
I think you can check if the X axis left end and right end are staying a same height.

I can only see the printing object didn't stick to the bed from your video...Are the two distance same?

And i think it's the abnormal anto home of Z axis caused it,you'd better observe Z endstop status when you auto home the printer:

Have you homed your Z axis before you level the heat bed?

Hi I home it then switch the steppers off to level the bed is that correct?
