I think some parameter of the firmware is not correct.

Sorry, we only program the firmware for Sanguinololu, Ramps1.4 and GT2560. We sell Genereation merely, so we can not provide your with such service. You can try to find some help on Internet.

Does the gen 6 hardware only support marlin firmware?

It supports repetier firmware too.
