On my first print the base layers go okay but then as the printer progresses it looses a step and misalignes the y axis and makes it print on nothing. It looks to have skipped 1cm? Why is this?

Is the y belt too tight? Is the power for y motor high enough?

The Y belt wouldn't be too tight I don't believe but the power may not be high enough, The bed and extruder can't hold a temperature while printing and I am believing it is the power supply, What do I have to do to connect a computer power supply to the GT2560? can I just get a computer power supply and plug it into the P4 connector?

You can rotate the screw on y motor driver slightly to raise the power, the voltage between GND and screw is around 1V.

But it happens late in the print, like an hour or so in, would that still be not enough voltage? The steppers are cool and everything is moving smoothly but my heat bed and extruder would be running around 10-20 degrees below the target

Hmm My power supply is producing 3.5v on one side and 3.9v on the other side

How did you test the voltage, could you please take a picture?
