I purchased the -Assembled JIETAI GT9L Extruder- and would like to switch out the stock extruder on my prusa I3. Would you please give me the firmware update that I would need for it?

I have this control board GT2560 3D printer controller board.

Thanks

You don't need to change the firmware, if you are always using GT2560 since you bought your printer. If necessary, change extruder step slightly.

Ok,

That said it looks like I can not get the extruder to extrude filament then. It goes through the stepper motor ok but will not extrude. I cannot even force push the filament into the head it seems to either be blocked or not hot enough to melt the filament.

Please advise,

Jason

If you can not extrude the filament by you hand, the head is blocked; otherwise, please calibrate the spring properly.
200 degrees for PLA, 240 degrees for ABS.

Is there a fan near the hot end?

Well the fan is where it came pre-mounted, having said that it is not wired as you provided a fan with a 2 pin fan knowing I have a 3 pin controller. So I have now tried the other extruder I purchased to see if I had a bad one and get the same results.

Please advise or replace the two extruder assmeblys I purchased.

There is nothing better than buying something you can not use.

If the fan has only 2 wires, the order of connection is as shown in the following picture:

Ok, so the fan works now, or just turns on.

I can not get the extruder to a temperature above 220 degrees. As such I can not print with it - WHY WILL IT NOT GO HOT ENOUGH TO DO ANYTHING WITH!!!!

PROVIDE SUPPORT OR I WILL REQUEST A REFUND

please advise
