print bed

ok, I apologize in advance for stupid questions. I am completely new to this stuff and am pulling my hair out. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Question:
shouldnt the extruder be over the print bed when I home it? Currently when I home it, the edge of the bed is about an inch away from the extruder.

as long as the object is in the center of your bed when printing, then you needn't to worry about that.
Or if not, check the calibration guide here, there's a part about this:

Or adjust the setting here first:
