Remove/Change the PTFE lining from hot end (i3X)

Hello!

I have an I3X. It worked fine for 2 months (I managed to print 1kg of PLA). Now filament is not flowing fast enough. Look at the picture. I is very good for 2/3 of the print then all broke loose :-(. I have removed the nozzle and tried to clean it. While doing so, I manage to break the PTFE inside the rod. Some say I can push it out but so far no success. Is there a hollow screw in the rod ?

For the original problem, is it possible that some dirt cooked inside the nozzle preventing it from heating the filament properly ?I say this because originally when I was installing new filament, it was very easy to push it through the nozzle (while heated). Now I have to push hard.

I think since you broke the PTFE tube inside the throat so it will be diffcult for you to plug in the filament, you can try to change a new tube and see if it works.

How should I remove the old PTFE. Should I try to pull from below (from the heater side) ? Someone suggest to use a wood screw to pull it out.

you can heat up the hotend to about 200 degrees and unscrew the heater from the throat, so you can remove the tube. Note be careful not to broke the throat.

Is there a trick to unscrew the barrel from the hotend without breaking the threads ?

I have ordered two replacement parts from your site. I ordered this: http://www.geeetech.com/barrel-for-mk8- ... p-937.html

just make sure you have heated it up before you unscrew the heater cause the filament left inside the throat will make it very hard to do this if not heated up.
