[Solved] Repetier Server Connection and Prusa i3 mk201

Hello,

I had a couple questions about running the Repetier Server Free (v 0.80.0) and the Prusa i3 mk201 (firmeware v GTM32_V1.0.5).

I got the firemware from the following post: http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 20&t=17046

I am currently trying to connect to the printer with the server (setting snapshot http://imgur.com/a/Kv8PO) and it just searches but never finds. I am able to connect directly through the Repetier host via USB com port 4 just fine.

I have perused the Geeetech forums and I see people talking about the server; however, no one ever mentioning getting it to work.

I have come across a post from stado65 (http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 26&t=17458) where they say the following:

"firmware : that is the biggest issue !!! the printer is only usable with Repetier host. I tried Repetier server : does not communicate at all. I tried Octoprint : it works but there are many com errors and, according to Octoprint's author, this is due to the firmware. Finally I tried to print from SD card but the print stops after 9 hours around 50%... Moreover, when printing from SD card, the printing speed decreases automatically down to 15%, then increases and decreases once again without any reason !!! I will open a new topic on this issue"

I was wondering if this was true and if anyone has found a way around this limitation or if there are any other ideas for me to try.

Thank you for any help.

The resolution was that there was a lingering connection holding onto the com port (com4). Once I rebooted the machine and reconnected the printer to the USB; the problem was resolved.

The newest version is compatible with the Repetier Server.

Thank you.
