Hello everyone,
I am 3D printer Prusa I3 pro B owner. I had some issues with extruder. Simply it doesn’t move. I did some test.

This is the list what I had done so far:

• Reapload firmware by using Arduino 1.01 and the newest one Arduino 1.8.1

I had taken firmware from this post

viewtopic.php?f=20&t=17046- from here I had downloaded firmware for my prusa i3 gt 2560. It was uploaded correctly.

No results.

• I already had done some simple diagnosis:

1. Just swamp an extruder cable to another slot ( Y axis). It worked. Extruder move with no problem.
2. Next I swamp stepper driver from extruder slot to X axis slot. It worked. It hasn’t have any problem. Also I had checked all possible issues with this stepper driver A 4988
viewtopic.php?f=19&t=17097 . I hadn’t find any problem with this part. Conclusion it is fine.
3. I swap stepper driver from X axis to extruder slot . It didin’t work

I had checked post how I can deactivate E0 (default slot) and activate E1 (changing pins numer in pins.h file). I couldn’t find link dirtect to this post now. This approach do not fix my problem.

I had tried almost everything. I feel soo confused now. In near future I have to print my parts for very important project, but I can’t.
I am affraid that steeper slot could be broken or cable slot for Extruder

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Piotr M.

I am almost certain you have the same problem I did - the extruder won't work below some high temperature - I think it's 160. It'll claim to work, but nope... It sits there doing nothing.

Warm it up, see where it gets you.

Hi guys,
I had changed my broken E0 slot and now its work fine, but now I had some some issue with clogging hot end (brass).
So I decided to buy new hot end (hardened steel).
What do you think about that ?
It worth to use hardened steel hot end instead of brass hot end ?

Have a nice day

I'm no expert-.-but I don't think the to material matters that much. Make sure it's clean though.
