MeCreator 2

This thing has been working just fine but now I'm getting continuous 'ERR: MAX TEMP' errors as if there is no temperature control at all.
Any suggestions on what to look for? The numbers in the software are fine, the upgraded firmware v1.0.2 has the correct numbers for shutting down the heaters but it still overheats. In addition, the temperature oscillations are wild, going from about 225 to 298 degrees, back and forth and never settling down to the 250C that I've chosen to print ABS. I've done the PID tuning several times but it appears this is making no difference.

Suggestions?

thanks,
tony

I guess the thermistor error, so it is not correct on the temperature control.

Thanks, that was my assessment.

Is the thermistor replaceable or fixed permanently in the hot end? Would this be a warranty issue, and if so, how do I get a replacement hot end with thermistor?

thanks,
tony

Thermistor is on the top of the extruder which hidden in the extruder and connects with red wire.

Installed a new hot end (w/sensor) - $5.50 . Works perfectly.
