HMC5883L magnetometer problem

I have two HMC5883L breakout modules. One (not purchased from Getech) is working correctly, the other (received from Getech yesterday) has problems. The identification registers read correctly (H43) but the XYZ output registers change erratically and are obviously not functioning correctly.
I think this device is faulty and would like a replacement. The module from Getech was not shipped in any form of anti-static packaging and so may have been damaged. Also the device number is difficult to read, it may have been overheated when soldered. I have seen similar effects in another post to this forum.
I look forward to a reply from technical support.

Hi friend;
Please try to connect two 4.7k or 10k resistors between SDA and VCC, and SCL and VCC. Then run the library in attachment to see if it works

Thanks for your reply.
I already have 10K pull-up resistors on the SDA and SCL lines.
I am using a PIC 16F886 micro to read the HMC5883L device so I cannot use the Arduino library in your attachment. The device is configured for single measurement mode as described in the Honeywell data sheet. As the non-Getech module works perfectly, I must assume that the Getech module is defective.
Futhermore, the Getech module arrived with a 4 pin header connector already soldered to the board. Is this normal ? Maybe other users of this module could confirm this.

Please examine the attached photographs of the module. The HMC5883L is badly aligned on the board, also two of the capacitors.
The surface of the MHC5883L device appears to show heat damage from soldering.
The module is obviously defective.
I await a reply from technical support.

Could the same as to learn your pitch on the plated via pockets of one's ADXL345 breakout mother board. Are generally these pockets 0. 1-inch (100mils) separated? This can be the pitch associated with standard headers. Another problem. Could be the ADXL345 chip about the mother board one created by Analog Gadgets Inc.? Appreciate it.
