I have set up my printer and am using the GEEtech software,
I can move the axes to Zero but not past zero and I need to do this to get the print head close enough to the heated pad.
The screen shows all three axes at zero

Which one is your printer? I think you should modify the parameter of Z max in firmware and confirm the nozzle is OK from the bed when Z is 0.
