Prints Flat Xmas Trees.

Hi All,

Need some help if possible.

I have built the printer (2 weeks ago) but hit a snag.

What works :D

I can move it manually using th emanual controls in repetier.
All the temp things works and palstic comes out.
If I press home it moves it to the front left of the bed.

All seems good so far.

Where it goes wrong :D Very wrong.

If I try and print anything it goes to the middle and prints the very first part of the object (EG a square).
It then proceeds to print a flat christmas tree of zero height gradually going towards Y max where it proceeds to try and kill itself by bang up agiant the end.
(It does the xmas tree thing no matter the object in the end. They are not desirable in any way)
So after 2 weeks I and rechecking it all I dont know where to start, be great if I could get some help. I think its something easy but I just cant think anymore. I will ernd up breaking it if I keep this up :-)

Thanks in advance from Holland.

Neil

Hello.

I guess you probably need to configure the feed resolution for the Z axis.

Your printer model can have: draw-bolts with trapezoidal thread TR8, or screws with metric thread M8.
Unfortunately, the setting is one, and sometimes it is not suitable for the equipment. :?

A description of how to do this can be found in this forum.
:P

I think its a Y axis problem.

It never goes backwards whenb printing an object, no matter what object or mrthod of sending it to the printer.
Everything works fine in manuialk control so not sure.
Maybe if I post a video that would be better to explain.
It prints the first layer and then Y goes forward, prints another layer and goes forward again (Repeat) until hitting the Y end at the front.
I am not going to give up

Hi.

If you have the opportunity to do so, make a movie.

hI,

OK, This is what it does if I try and print a 20x20 cube.
I think some of the defaults are wrong also.

It starts off OK and does the 1st layer of the cube.

Hi.

This film explains a lot.
It shows that you have to calibrate the motor current of the Y axis. ;)
The table (heated bed) moves very dynamically, and has its own weight.

At the moment, the motor does not have enough power to overcome the resulting overloads.

Possible solutions:
  • Slow down the printer until there is no more layer slitting.
  • Check the motor data, adjust the Vref on the stepstick module.
:)

Hi,

I have been busy. Looked around the forum and fixed a few things, well a lot of things :D .
Speed is sorted.
All motors / axis work fine and it tries to print OK.

I am at the poinbt of making it all level.

Problem is, when it is at home (And all heaters on etc) the plastic comes out fine in a nice line downwards.

As soon as I print, no plastic at all no matter what, so I presume I have messed this up somewhere as its when trying to print an object, manual seems fine & all OK. (But for some reason it moves poainfully slowly in manual moving.

Thanks
