MeCreator2 not working

Hi
My MeCreator2 arrived yesterday and when I plugged it in the display lit up straight away without the machine being switched on. When I do switch it on the fan starts however the jog dial does not work. Also the machine will not connect to my computer, the ports appear to be the same. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
