My upgrades for MeCreator2 (mainboard, screen, extruder)
My upgrades for MeCreator2 (mainboard, screen, extruder)
First of all, the plastic stock extruder broke down and I had to change it to a stadnik aluminum MK8:
After that, the motherboard was replaced to Bigtreetech SKR 1.4 with step drivers TMC2209:
Wifi module added:
Trianglelab BMG extruder with E3D V6 hotend on hand made metal bracket (it was hard to make):
Belt tensioner instead of spring:
Printhead cable holder preventing creasing:
Bigtreetech TFT24 screen:
As a result, the printer began to work quieter, print quality increased, and managing a touchscreen and Wi-Fi is more convenient. Of course I lost about 15mm along the Z axis, due to the increased length of the hotend and 3mm glass on print table

Re: My upgrades for MeCreator2 (mainboard, screen, extruder)
Hello awesome build you have there. I am trying to print pc and nylon on my 3d printer so i would like it to get up to 280 degrees. What would i have to upgrade ? Would an all metal hotend like the e3d v6 fit on the stock mk8 extruder ? And should i get the All metal kit for the Mk8 or should i get an all metal bowden ? And what else would i need to upgrade ?
Looking forward to a reply

Hi!
You've done a great job!
Could you tell about building firmware for btt 1.4? Especially e3dv6 hotend params - thermistor number and tft params and steps per mm.
It's marlin?
Thanks!

I'm not sure I got your question right, but you have to completely redesign the extruder mount (bracket), it’s impossible to install the e3d v6 on the stock mk8 extruderMaxim3d wrote: Fri Jun 26, 2020 7:56 am Hello awesome build you have there.
