Printing with Pet-G on the A30

Can anyone confirm they have printed Pet-g on the A30 without printer limitation issues?

My main concerns are:
1. That the Pet-G might stick too well to the Super Plate causing damage to the plate to get it off. I have seen pictures where Pet-G takes chunks out of glass build plates.

2. That the hotend can successfully get up to a temperature to melt Pet-G without melting the PTFE tube (I havent taken my hotend apart so Im not sure if its all metal or if the PTFE tube goes down all the way to the nozzle).

Anyone with experience particularly on the A30 please let me know, I dont want to experiment and find out the hard way

I've had some very limited experience with Inland PETG on the A30. Ultimately I gave up and went back to PLA; at least for the moment. No issues with getting temp or with bed adhesion. My issues were nozzle jamming and print stopping midway/printing in air.

Also, the controller goes to 250C but you can get hotter using gcode. Should be no reason to but possible.

Thanks for the feedback. I was worried about the Pet-g damaging the superplate but based on your findings I should be ok. Im hoing to keep the temperature quite a bit below 250. I believe at around 245 the ptfe tube end down near the nozzle can begin softening and causing issues.

Admittedly, I have a different model of printer. Nevertheless, I printed with the temperature of the head (hot end) of 260℃.
There were no side effects.

I am having limited successful experience printing PETG on the A30. Does anyone have successful CURA settings to get decent PETG prints?

PETG seems no big problem on the A30 with Cura but it all depends on what filament you are using and you need to fiddle with the settings to get it right. It took me full 2 weeks XD

I have been playing with the CURA settings last couple days trying different calibration tests. Here is the extreme overhang... didn't turn out so well. I get a lot of globs while printing and I have to pull the first few lines of the skirt from the bed because they not sticking or super stringy and globs sticking to the hot end tip.

are you using the stock hotend? my filament keeps oozing out and then sticking to the nozzle and blobbing up on the print causing failures or just ugly prints. Please PM me or put up some screen shots on this post of your CURA settings to print PETG please.

I use PETG on the constant basis. Print temps 240C/75C. Speed reduced to 10mm/sec 1st layer and 60mm/sec all others. I have not much left from original components on my A30 . Mandatory mod to print with PETG - replacement of standard extruder to geared extruder (I use 5.18:1 geared extruder from Ebay). Otherwise speed should be significantly reduced or You will get constant jams. Another thing - use of quality PETG with good tolerances (i.e. 3Dplastx). Replacement of standard Geetech printhead to something more suitable (like E3D Volcano) can help to improve print speeds as well...

In general - I like this material. No 6 months term until degradation, like PLA. No wrapping like with ABS, much better layer adhesion than ABS (no breaks between layers even on veeery big parts!).
