Problems of communication Arduino UNO R3 + GSM Shield SIM900

Post by carlos2k6 »

I had problems to communicate my Arduino UNO R3 + GSM SIM900 Shield, the error is:
GSM Shield testing.
DB: NO RESP
DB: NO RESP
DB: NO RESP
ERROR: SIM900 does not answer. Check power and serial pins in GSM.cpp
status = IDLE

I've changed the values in the file Tx Rx GSM.cpp and nothing external power and is still not working.
Can you help with my problem?
Is there a library or some way to communicate the two shield?

Hi ,friend
I am so sorry for the late reply.
I analyse your problem , I think the signal of SIM900 is too weak possibly.
Do you test the signal (AT+CSQ) ?And check the connction of the antenna.
You can put the command AT + COPS ? not AT + COPS =? to check if the card connect a network operators.

My SIM card is from the network operator DIGITEL GSM operates in the 900MHz band, the signal level is:
AT + CSQ
+ CSQ 12.5

If my Shield GSM SIM900 is quadband, because it can not register my mobile network operator DIGITEL??

Hi, friend
The signal of SIM900 is ok. But it is a big trouble that your SIM card is from the network operator DIGITEL GSM operates .I haven't too much information about the
DIGITEL GSM. I just find the http://arduino.cc/en/Main/ArduinoGSMShield It is important about the Notes on the Telefonica/Bluevia SIM included with the shield
I find VENEZUELA in these countries.
