Extruder Issues
I have cleared the nozzle several times. I have tested the extruder motor using other connections and it works. Why am I still having problem getting good prints? The PLA does not seem to be flowing even after i set the temps to 200. Although I am able to get extrusion if i force the filament through by pushing it through. The extruder motor does not seem to push the filament through. It is very frustrating. Is this a hardware or software issue?
Re: Extruder Issues
when you manually control the extruder to turn on the repetier host, will it actually turn or not? you can heat up the hotend to 200 and unplug the filament to check it. then you'll konw it is a hardware or a software problem, and remember to check the motor driver too.
And what's your printer type, if it is I3 X, it might probably be the software problem, you need to install the latest one.

Re: Extruder Issues
I am using the Me Creator. It does heat up. Just that the extruder drive is not turning. How do i check the motor driver? Thanks.
Re: Extruder Issues
simple test, just swap the driver with the X axis one, see if the X motor work or not.

Re: Extruder Issues
Did some further testing. It seems that the extruder motor stops halfway during a print job. During the tests, it seems to be pushing the filament smoothly but after about 30 mins in to the job, it often stops moving. Is this a driver issue or one that is lying with the stepper motor?
