MK8 extruder

Post by wisey »

Hi all,

I have a http://www.geeetech.com/acrylic-geeetec ... p-917.html which ive managed once out of 100 prints to get working.

I think its something to do with the extruder settings but im not sure

In repetier host 1.6.2 i go to manual controls and extrude 10
See video for problem.
https://youtu.be/fCmv1_UA7GU

Ive checked voltage (set at 1V) was .811VDC
Ive tried reuploading the firmware using recommended settings in the forum
Bed is leveled using paper technique
Ive increased the Bed Temp to 100degrees from 65(takes awhile to get there)
extruder temp is at 190degrees (using PLA 1.75)
extruder size 0.4mm (no idea what it actually is)

Ok Here is a better link hopefully.

https://youtu.be/ak2vfq0mDFY

As you can see some filement extrudes but its so patchy.
Sometimes with the same settings it works a bit better than the video

Also these are the only settings ive touched in the configuration firmware

#define MOTHERBOARD 7
#define INVERT_X_DIR true
#define DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT {80,80,2560,93}
#define DEFAULT_NOMINAL_FILAMENT_DIA 1.75

in the configuration_adv

#define D_FILAMENT 1.75

everything else is default.

The only thing im not sure on is what the diameter of the hole is on the extruder. Ive tried 0.3 and 0.4

Hi,
I've seen your configuration in the firmware and found nothing wrong.I think you'd better what size you nozzle actually is,cuz it matters a lot.And i think you can find the nozzle size info in your order details.Maybe its the size setting caused the filament problem...
Additionally,after you ensure your nozzle size,you can try to load our official config in your slic3r to see if it'll make a difference.
Remember to choose the corresponding one(0.3or0.4).

Ive set the Z offset to -10 so it prints at level straight away but same problem
still comes out bad
appears like it doesnt stick to the glass.
Im going to increase the temp to 100 on the glass and see what happens

That's werid.How it goes if you manually extrude the filament?
