About the fan extruder, always on?

Post by sadandres »

Hello everyone, I'm new here. Just get my new mecreator2, I'm still testing and trying to print ABS, PLA works very well.
My question is: Is normal that the fan extruder are always working, and alwaus in the maximum?
Thank you all.

It's quite normal, the fans will be always on until you power off the printer.

It would be useful to have the ability to change the fan speed on the first layers.
Is this possible with Mecreator?

Really you can do that. The board that control the fan have two connectors, one of them are always on, the other is located at the side of this, it's name is FAN_PWM, with this you can control the fan speed with manual control, and when you are printing also is controlled. I don't know if this connector was designed for this, but is useful for that porpuse. Use with caution  .
