Hello,
I have been reading and attempting to centre my prints on the print bed - with no luck. Geeetech i3 ProB - purchased in last 3 weeks.
using slic3r I have put in x and y origin offsets between -60 and +60 and all iterations in between and can see very little change in position.
The printer auto homes to near left corner pretty well (it is not touching the bump switch at this position) - but as soon as I try to print the printer moves to about midway deep on the print bed but the printer moves to the left - back off the print bed.
1) -What are the settings (x and y) offset that I need to get the printer to print more to the right?
So far the only way I have been able to print ONCE on the print bed was to auto home the head, then disable steppers ad drag the printer to sit in the middle of the bed (left to right) and at the near edge. I think it is the X setting I need. If it prints to far to the left do I decrease the origin offset? i.e. go from -35 to -45 etc..
2)- Do I have to auto home prior to each print?
3) - my auto home sends the print head to the near left corner of the print bed, but sometimes it sends it 10mm to 20mm short of the left hand edge. Each time I press auto home it moves 10mm left. Is this normal?
I think I didn't auto home once or twice so it may be that I had the correct settings but it still came out wrong and I moved on.
Any help with any of the above would be greatly appreciated.....
At the moment I am only printing from SD card
Cannot get I3 Pro B to print on the print bed
Re: Cannot get I3 Pro B to print on the print bed
Hi,
I noticed this:
"my auto home sends the print head to the near left corner of the print bed, but sometimes it sends it 10mm to 20mm short of the left hand edge. Each time I press auto home it moves 10mm left. Is this normal?"
Of course it's not normal. The printer should hit all the endstops(x,y,z) whenever you press "auto home".
You'd better check if you have your endstops correctly connected to the right slot(X_min,Y_min and Z_min).
