Geeetech Prusa I3 Pro B Y axis never goes home only forward

Hi, I bought a new 3d printer 1.5 yrs ago and just got it put together. I am using a MacBook pro with Repetier sw and Arduino for upload of firmware. I never received the original fw for this so I have been reading through here about all the troubleshooting. I have come down to one problem of my Y axis not wanting to home. my z and x home but my y goes to the max and grinds for a few seconds or until I hit the endstop then it stops. Please someone help, I have been at this now for almost 2weeks. Can I get the right firmware for it?? thanks
