Looking for guidance on upgrading to a geared extruder

Post by geetch38349 »

Hello,

I'm looking for some guidance on upgrading my I3 Pro B Extruder to a Kysan 5.18:1 Planetary Geared Stepper Motor Nema17 (or similar). I've already changed out the system to a bowden feeder and hotend.

What I dont' know what/how to do is determine:

- what stepper driver is needed
- what is compatible with my main board (attached)
- what firmware is needed
- how to calibrate the geared motor

If you use this stepper motor, how to mount the feeder?
-Keep your mind and try to test it. :)
