MeCreator 2, gt2560 and reflash gone bad

Post by tjm3d_auto »

Hi.
Did a reflash and something happened that's not good. I've done this a few times and had it work out just fine but after the last firmware burn I'm getting two rows of blocks across the display and nothing happening as far a a boot-up. Any further reflash attempts results in this message in endless repetition:

avrdude: stk500v2_ReceiveMessage(): timeout

And then after every 6-10 of those I get one of these:

avrdude: stk500v2_getsync(): timeout communicating with programmer

It's obvious that the communication is down between the computer and the board, but why? Has is gone defective? And how to fix? I've tried all of the recommends that pop up with a search including using the reset button, but no help. How do I get a new board and is there a better upgrade?

thanks,
tony

I suggest you to upgrade the firmware via Easyprint where you are able to have access to the latest version.

William, the suggestion would be a good one except that there is no communication between the MeCreator2 and the computer. The USB port refused connections. How do I get a new board?

I've been upgrading the firmware via Linux and amd64 bit programming and I've had no problems except for today. The last firmware write was successful but the MeCreator2 doesn't boot and has two rows of blocks on the lcd.
