had a a4988 driver off by one pin after replacing a bad one , now my board is not recognized by windows, display only beeps and nothing more, is the board toast or is there a fix
both fuses are still good , power supply is not an issue , it acts as if the processor is fried

Maybe you need to re-burn the bootloader at first.

no longer recognized by arduino and ftdi will not communicate , no way to re burn anything , i replaced board and new one communicates just fine , dont want to trash it if there is a way to fix, might try changing 2560 chip with a new one , this is the revision A+ board that has the servo pins for auto bed leveling
